NMP (N-methyl piperazine) is an intermediate for antibiotics (quinolones) and other pharmaceuticals, including antihistamines and tranquillisers. It is also used in pesticides, surfactants, synthetic fibres and dyestuffs and the production of aminomethyl piperazine.
